NEW Summer Colors Home Tour: Going Green
Welcome to the brand new Summer Colors Home Tour!! Several bloggers are joining together to share how they decorate their home with a favorite summer color. Each day this week you’ll find creative bloggers sharing inspiration – they’re all listed at the end of this post.
My color choice is green in a range of shades. From apple green to forest green, I think I’ve got the spectrum pretty well covered. My inspiration is nature – green grass, leafy trees, green apples, you name it!
In the family room, light weight cotton throws in a cheery yellow green brighten my favorite tufted chair from Pier 1. My little fiddle leaf fig in the corner lends a darker forest green to add some depth and life to the space.
A collection of over-sized apple green pillows from HomeGoods get cozy on the sectional. The first time I fell in love with apple green was when Tom from “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” painted a powder room in this energetic hue. A deep green garland with white flowers frames my architectural print of the Paris train station.
My favorite vintage brown bottles on the coffee table pull in earth tones to complement the greens of nature.
My choice of summer colors continues into the dining room.
Last week I shared a summer table setting in shades of green; now the table is cleared and a new centerpiece has taken over.
You might remember that this white bowl from Portugal was filled with pink and white flowers in my spring family room. It now resides on the dining table and cradles natural spheres in green, cream, and brown twig balls.
If you’re a frequent reader, you might remember my new green bottles that decorate the dining console table.
The sitting room enjoys a few shades of softer greens. I swapped out the gray cabinet for the creamy shabby chic style cabinet that was in the dining room. Soft green quilted pillows pair with a light gray cotton throw. I pulled the colors from the country canvas print on the wall.
New white vases join my green vase for an earthy summer vignette.
The mini canvas landscape prints from my spring mantel moved over here with a few more of my favorite blue-green vases that I found at a local boutique.
I think the smaller cream cabinet fits in this space better. Plus it helps brighten the space a bit.
I hope you enjoy my summer colors of green in a variety of shades. I’ve never used green so much in my decor and find I really love its organic, earthy appeal. Now head to the rest of Monday’s bloggers who are sharing their summer colors. And then stop by each day this week to get the updated links for the rest of my blogging friends!

I love the apple green shades in your summer decor Jennifer and it’s a color that I need to explore sometime for my home! Thanks for hosting what looks to be an amazing blog hop….will be pinning!
Jennifer, I love all those pretty shades of green. That is another color I love to use and my master bedroom used to be all green and white when we first moved in our house. Your home looks summer fresh. Thanks so much for hosting!
This is such a restful and beautiful space to spend the summer…thank you for hosting this event. Enjoy the warm weather!
Beautiful, beautiful shades of green, truly bringing the wonderful summer colors from the outside in. I am partial to that color of soft apple green as I spend a lot of time lately in my kitchen packing away and my view is of my soft celery green wicker in the sunroom…such a happy color for summer. I love how you used the vases throughout your home to add the colors of green and then the pop of the brown of the vintage brown bottles is fantastic….Have a wonderful Holiday and thanks for hosting this wonderful tour!
I love seeing how people use color – especially during this time of year. Your greens really bring the outside in and are so pretty! Enjoy your week!
Shelley

Thank you, Marlene! It was fun pulling it all together.
I love all the apple greens! I seriously need those 2 pillows for my home! I have also been on the hunt for green glass bottles. Yours are beautiful! Thanks so much for hosting this tour!
Thank you, Kim! I saw those green bottles at HomeGoods and had to have them! It’s where I found the pillows, too. 😉

Thank you Susan! I’m so glad you could join in on the Summer Colors tour!!
The shades of green are so beautiful in your home! I love how soft they are and it really pulls everything together!!!
Thanks, Kristin! It’s the first time I’ve used this much green in my house. Must be my recent addiction to houseplants that has me hooked on the color this year.
I’ve fallen in love with green all over again this year and use it throughout my house too. I especially love how you’ve used so many different shades of it together. The room is so pretty and inviting!
Thanks Suzy! What is it about the color green this year? I’ve loved using it this season!
You chose my absolutely favorite color! The shades of green you used are beautiful, as your home always is. I really love that green garland with the tiny white flowers in your living room, so pretty. Thank you so much for hosting the tour, Jennifer!
Thanks, Amanda! I didn’t know green was your fave color. I almost chose coral – but I used that color a few years ago. I decided to do something different this time around. 🙂
Hey, Jennifer, thanks for hosting and inviting me! I love shades of green and those are beautiful, your home looks so ready for summer. Looks very fresh and that’s my fave shade of green!
Thanks, Rhoda! I don’t normally use a lot of green but I really like it in my home! Thanks for joining the tour. It’s been fun seeing everyone’s summer colors!
So beautiful, Jennifer. I’m so glad you organized this tour as it’s fun to see what colors people gravitate to. I almost did green as I find myself adding more and more plants to our home. I love the pops of green in your spaces. Ooooh, and those antique brown bottles are dreamy.
Thanks, Danielle! I’ve been collecting houseplants, too. 🙂 Hope you’re enjoying your new pool!
What a gorgeous tour! I love your touches of yellow and green!
Thanks so much Amber! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Oh, good! I’m so sick of blue, blue, blue.
Hi Teddee! Blue does seem to be a popular color for summer. Glad you enjoyed my green accents!
Jennifer, What a beautiful tour! LOVE the pops of happy greens in your home! And those citrine colors… SIGH!!! Thanks for putting together such a great group of bloggers for this tour!
Thanks, Yvonne. I don’t decorate much with green but I’m finding it very soothing. 🙂
Jennifer so pretty. I don’t remember you using green in the past. Looks wonderful scattered around. It makes the pasture pop in your larger painting. Works wonders with the cabinet
How’s your courtyard coming?
Cindy
Hi Cindy! You’re very observant – when I started looking for green accents, that pasture print was my starting point.
We’ve only done one thing in the courtyard (our backyard) – trim the bridal bushes. LOL. We need to rip out some plants and get the deck installed. I think that’s the next step. The pond probably won’t go in until later in the summer. The crew has other jobs ahead of ours – but at least it gives us time to get everything ready for them! It’s been too hot to work outside this past week (over 90-degree temps). It’s supposed to cool off tomorrow and through the weekend though. Thanks for asking!
Your home looks lovely! I love all of the different shades of green that you incorporated.
This has been such a fun blog tour. Thank you so much for letting me join in on the fun.
Thanks, Emily! I loved all your plants that you featured in your tour. I think you and I are on the same wavelength! 🙂
Jennifer, the greens look so great for summer! (As you may recall, green is my absolute favorite color!) And I love that you’ve mixed all different shades which makes it so much more interesting than just using one.
Thanks so much for including me in this tour! I’m thrilled to be joining such a talented group, and Iove the idea of us all sharing our “summer color” – such a great idea!

P.S. Love that white bowl from Portugal, too!
Thanks so much, Sheila! It’s hard to choose just one shade of green as a favorite. I’ve been trying to let the outdoors influence my decorating decisions. I have a Paris train station print – and we live near a train station. We also live near the country with farm animals so I brought farm animal decor into the house too. So it just seemed logical to decorate with green during the summer. 🙂
I love green, Jennifer. Your home is gorgeous no matter what color it is! Thank you for organizing this wonderful tour!
Hugs, Jamie
What beautiful shades of green Jennifer! You have such a classic, clean style that’s so inviting.
Thanks so much for hosting, and including me!
Love the greens Jennifer! And your tobacco colored bottles are gorgeous! Thank you so much for inviting me on the tour. It has been lovely!!
I’m so loving green this year too, you’ve used all the shades of green so beautifully, I especially love the vintage amber bottles contrasted against the green! Thank you so much for hosting this awesome tour! xo
