Sensational Camp Style Home: See the Cozy Details

Today we have a pretty home tour from Maine. Lately I’ve been inspired by the landscape and architecture found in this colonial state. Ever since our trip to Kennebunkport a few years ago, Maine has become my favorite state (I even like it more than Hawaii, believe it or not). Take a tour of this renovated camp style home by Woodhull. Although it has a definite vacation vibe, I could easily see living here year-round.

Towering evergreens hug this charming Maine cabin graced with pretty details, inside and out. The metal roof adds character all its own next to the wood siding. And note the interesting porch posts!

Step inside to be greeted by a beautiful stone fireplace with a wood mantel. Pickled wood walls pair with a gorgeous wood beamed ceiling. Comfortable furnishings make this camp style home cozy and inviting. And isn’t that bear just so cute?

The kitchen is adjacent to the living room and provides a fun pop of green cabinetry. If you’re interested in this paint color, Kendal Green by Sherwin Williams comes close. It looks great with the lighter wood tones and the yellow metal pendant lights.ย

The dining room completes the open concept living area that greets you when you walk through the front door. You can see a small butler’s pantry to the left of the table and the stairway to the second floor on the right.ย

The bathroom features the same color cabinetry as the kitchen. I like when a decorating theme flows throughout a house. It makes the spaces feel more connected to one another.

I love the textured wood walls that hug the stairway and upstairs hallway. The light color of the wood keeps this space light and bright. The angled ceiling creates additional character and interest.ย

More angled ceilings appear in an upstairs bedroom. Since the wood treatment on the ceiling and walls is so interesting, a lot of decorating isn’t needed. I love the striped wool blanket at the foot of the bed. It instantly says “camp.” Who wouldn’t love waking up in the morning to a view of the numerous trees outside?

Another striped wool blanket appears in a first floor bedroom with amazing views of the woods. Do you see the fishing poles above the windows? Imagine how dreamy it would be to fall asleep in this room with the windows open during the summer months.

  1. Such a relaxing peaceful place! We recently purchased a cabin and want to furnish it with classic pieces. I donโ€™t want too many โ€œcutesyโ€pieces. We will be remodeling the kitchen and adding a small dining room. This cabin gave me some great ideas. Thanks for sharingโ€ฆ..and Happy New Year!

  2. There are few true Mainers in Kennebunkport….so we don’t consider southern ME a true representation. True Mainers are the best of the best…

  3. Love this, especially the cabinetry color, the wood, and furnishings. Maine is wonderful! You should visit the state.

  4. This is really pretty. I’m not generally fond of very modern looking spaces, but the warmth of the wood makes this very inviting and cozy.

  5. Very interesting. I love the rocking chair corner with the windows on both sides and all those ceiling angles. I think those blankets are Hudson Bay point blankets.
