Stunning Cape Cod Home: Coastal Elegance Meets Modern Luxury
Today I’m excited to share a gorgeous Cape Cod home decorated by Martha’s Vineyard Interior Design located in the charming town of Chatham. The talented architect was Salt Architecture and photos were taken by Michael J. Lee.
You’ll find this delightful, seaside home to be light and airy with a slightly modern vibe. Interior spaces are kept uncluttered so as not to detract from the breathtaking views out the expansive windows. The entry way sets the stage for what’s ahead.

Step inside the living room and the first thing you’ll notice is the view of the water surrounding the quaint town of Chatham, Massachusetts. The furnishings consist of linen and pale blue, blending beautifully with the scene outside. The vaulted ceiling is paneled in light wood, mimicking the color of sandy beaches.

The living room enjoys a textured stone fireplace and you’ll note a little balcony exposing the hallway upstairs.

The kitchen features the same sandy-hued planked ceilings and flooring. Open shelving complements the row of windows shaded by trees. The waterfall island adds to the clean, contemporary ambiance.

The dining room in the Cape Cod home is simply amazing! No matter where you’re seated, you’ll enjoy a waterfront view. In my opinion, this house is the epitome of seaside living.

Don’t rush past the laundry room or you might miss the whimsical shirt pattern of the wallpaper! It’s perfect, don’t you think?

I don’t know how much work I’d get done in this office space with the impressive view outside. I’d probably do a lot of day dreaming here and then I’d find myself being lured outside.

The modern staircase is a perfect touch for a contemporary Cape Cod home. You can imagine what it looks like from outside at night when the lights are on.

Serenity calls from the master bedroom, which of course has equally stunning views like the rest of the house. Can you imagine waking up to this scene every morning?

A free standing bathtub takes center stage in the bathroom, with a door leading to a convenient outdoor shower.

We had an outdoor shower at the Airbnb we rented in Hawaii and I loved it. There’s something so organic about showering outside with Mother Nature (fully protected from anyone’s view, of course).

The icing on this Cape Cod home is the relaxing pool where you can swim short laps or enjoy lounging on a float.

What a lovely home!
Coastal living is very beautiful if you’re lucky enough to live by the water. Many of your loyal readers, including myself, do not. I would really like to see more homes within a city or suburbs that do not have water views or coastal decorating. It would also be nice to see less white. How do all those white upholstered chairs and sofas stay clean?
Hi Merrill! Thanks for the feedback! I’ve got some homes I can feature that match your suggestion, so stay tuned! I don’t know how people keep the white upholstery clean. I had a white slipcovered sectional years ago and could not keep the white slipcover clean, despite how much bleach I used when washing (and I don’t really like using bleach). Needless to say, I got rid of the white. LOL.
It’s gorgeous, isn’t it? I’ve been looking at Airbnbs in Chatham to rent next summer. Love your area of the country!
