Vintage Fall Mantel with Brown Bottles

country style, fall decorating September 5, 2017

Although it’s not officially fall, the autumn decorating season in the blogger world has begun! Last week I joined Taryn Whiteaker and a few other ladies for a DIY fall project. Today I’m joining a slightly larger group to share more seasonal decor. See how to create a vintage fall mantel with old brown bottles and baby boos! (This post contains affiliate links.)

Vintage Fall Mantel with my favorite brown bottles from the flea market

I love me some vintage bottles, no matter what the color. My collection includes clear vintage bottles, dirty bottles, flea market purple bottles, vintage aqua bottles … and my beautiful brown bottles!

The beautiful amber color of assorted brown bottles is the perfect hue for my vintage fall mantel.

Group any of your smaller collectibles on a mantel for visual impact any time of the year.

The addition of a distressed wheat bundle painting adds to the autumn vibe. It’s suspended from the latch of an old window frame. Boulangerie is French for bakery. Here in Illinois, we’re starting to see wheat and grain bundles tied up in the farm fields.

A trip to our local flea market this past weekend resulted in acquisition of these two brown bottles. I chose the one at left for its shape and stopper. The larger one at left is a Hollywood Whiskey bottle. I got a kick out of its raised lettering and had to add it to my collection.

I grabbed the last sprigs of bittersweet at Michael’s. And lucky for me, a few flea market vendors had real baby boos (small white pumpkins) for sale.

I always use baby boos in fall decor.

I love the warm orange hues of this draping berry spray that I found at the local Country Naturals store. It’s my daughter’s favorite shop. The faux white berries in the background are from my favorite store – Cocoon, located in Geneva.

Thanks for stopping by to enjoy my vintage fall mantel and brown bottle collection. I hope you’re now inspired to decorate your own mantel or shelf with some of your favorite collectibles! Let me know what collectible you end up using!

Your mantle looks amazing. I love the brown bottles with the white baby pumpkins and orange berries – but I especially love the wheat bundle painting. It just puts the whole vignette over the top. Great job.

Your mantel is beautiful! I did mine with lots of green and white this year. So I’m using a vintage green bitters bottle and a vintage blue milk of magnesia bottle. I’m trying colors other than the traditional reds and oranges!
