Today’s island beach cottage reminds me of our trips to Hilton Head Island when the kids were younger. There’s something about low country that captures my heart every time I visit. And this beautiful cottage has done the same. Photo by Sea Island Builders LLC The house was designed to take advantage of water views…
Early last year my taste in home decor started to change. Normally I’m attracted to white, bright interiors with pops of color here and there. I’ve also found cottage style to be appealing and live-able. But then in January 2017 I featured the Randolph Cottage on my blog and my heart was set in a…
The bedrooms in our circa 1875 home have always provided a decorating challenge. The rooms are small and there’s lots of angles to consider. Once furniture arrangement is figured out, you can start to decorate your bedroom for the season – in this case – spring. Since we had a little snow this weekend, I…
When it comes to celebrating Christmas with my loved ones, I prefer to host an evening holiday meal. I love the glow of candles and the tree lights while dining. It creates a warmth and ambiance that everyone appreciates. With that in mind, this year I created a natural and somewhat romantic Christmas table for…
You may remember from a few weeks ago that I wrote about the chance to win a $350 store credit to Polder’s Old World Market to purchase your own set of wooden spoons and chef utensils (winner announced at the end of this post)! Their beautiful hand carved spoons and spurtles possess elements that I…

Love it all.
I love the simplicity of it all Jennifer. No fuss and clutter, just beautiful useful pieces and a lovely touch with the white glasses like your grans. Don’t you love it when you find thrifty finds that remind you of a time in your own childhood.
Very fresh looking, Jennifer! Love the simplicity of your table setting. The book page runner is very creative. We are going to our daughter’s for Christmas day also. I still have no idea what we are having Christmas Eve, but it will just be myself, hubby and our son so I’ll keep it easy and simple.
Jennifer, I LOVE your touches of Christmas in your dining room. I need to work on mine today. I just may borrow a few of your ideas. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, Gail

Love the green and white. I have lots of red this year so this gave me the idea to do some white with all of it on the table. I have lots of white so no excuse to do the same old boring thing I always do.

SO pretty! Love the book page runner idea. I’m impressed, you’re ready for Saturday already!
Simple and festive, Jennifer. I love it!
So soft and pretty. I love the simple decor and what a great idea to decorate each plate with a couple of bulbs. The green looks perfect against the neutrals.
It’s all so very pretty…love all of vintage ornaments that you have used.

Linda
