Most Popular Posts of 2021

Every year I like to wrap things up by sharing posts from the blog that you all enjoyed the most. At least, Google statistics tell me that these are your favorite posts of the year. Maybe you remember others that you enjoyed more. In a look back, here are the most popular posts of 2021, starting with the most visited.

#1: Cottage Flowers for the Garden

I’m not surprised that the topic of cottage flowers was popular. Who can resist a sea of roses peeking out through a white picket fence? Read this post again if you need a bit of garden inspiration during this winter season.

#2: The Return to Small House Living

Smaller houses can be quaint and charming and some people are tiring of the McMansions that were popular at the beginning of this century. A small home makes it easier to live more simply. I think you’ll love this collection if you didn’t see it already.

#3: Create a Cozy Entryway

I have to confess, I was a little surprised that this post made the top ten – and more surprised it was in the top three. My entryway got a mini makeover with a new bench and glass cabinet.

#4: Earthy Kitchen Ideas

How gorgeous is this kitchen? If you love earth tones, you’ll enjoy seeing all the kitchens in this post.

#5: 11 Inviting Entryway Ideas

I had to chuckle when I saw this entryway photo again. The owner has the same Hope Philodendron plant in a basket that appears in my entryway (#3 on this list). All the foyers in this post are beautiful. It’s worth another look!

#6: Charming Homes of Maryville, Tennessee

Here’s another post that surprised me with its appearance in the top ten list. The homes are all quite charming. Who knows? Maybe a lot of people from Tennessee read the blog and that’s why this walking tour of Maryville was a hit.

#7: Lavender Rosemary Bath Salts

This bath salt recipe is my favorite! I’ve made a few other fragrances but the mix of lavender and rosemary makes this one especially appealing and relaxing.

#8: Blue Ivy Cottage in Chattanooga

Another Tennessee related post made the list of favorites. This one is a tour of a tiny Airbnb we visited in the spring. I loved that trip to Chattanooga and all the natural beauty of the area.

#9: Modern Craftsman Home Tour

Immediately, I fell in love with this modern craftsman home when I saw it. It’s no surprise that you all loved this home as much as I did.

#10: Top Ten Posts of 2020

Believe it or not, my top ten posts from 2020 made this year’s list. I posted this in January instead of at the end of the year which is how it managed to rank now. The dining room below is from a Maryville cottage that my daughter and I stayed in early September of 2020.

I don’t think I’ll ever tire of blogging and I truly appreciate each and everyone of you who honors me when you visit Town and Country Living. This little blog is just over 10 years old and I don’t see it ending anytime soon. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for joining me on this fun journey!

  3. Happy New Year Jennifer. Thank you for another wonderful year and for the inspiration you have provided. Just because I live on the other side of the world in a hot climate it doesn’t mean I can’t pinch ideas. Now a days I read, let alone subscribe to so few bloggers but I always welcome your email and enjoy reading. Many reasons I like your blog however the number one reason is that you stay true to the topic. I want to read about houses, gardens and a little lifestyle not boasting about a collection luxury designer goods. I love that you keep it real. From Brisbane Australia I wish you and yours joy, prosperity and a much safer 2022.

  4. I so enjoy our blog Jennifer so I’m glad to hear you aren’t leaving. Your garden, your house, a VRBO you’ve stayed at, a town you’ve visited all give me inspiration to keep doing and hopefully traveling again soon. You’ve put some ideas in my mind. Much appreciated and much needed….thank you!
Have a great New Years and we will see you on the other side!
