Stunning Modern Farmhouse Transforms and Calms with Serene Blue Decor
Design experts keep saying that the farmhouse look is going out of style, but I have to disagree. I think instead, it’s transforming itself into a more modern look that borders on transitional decorating, which is a mix of old and new. Today’s stunning modern farmhouse by Storie Collective is an excellent example of this.
Inside the home, an arched doorway leads from the hall to the deep blue living room with a boho-style light fixture. One glance and you’re immediately drawn into the space with the ceiling beams and matching mantel above the fireplace. Using the same color paint on the walls trim, and cabinets keeps the room cohesive and cocoon-like.
The kitchen island wears the same shade of blue that pops against the white cabinets. When you pull a color from one room into another, you creative a pleasing flow to the eye. The wooden bar stools match the same hue as the light wood floors.
Another view of the kitchen shows the gleaming subway tile brushed gold hardware that lends a more modern vibe. The dark blue island and runner rug help to ground and warm the room.
Another arched doorway frames the dining nook with its pretty wall paper and floor-to-ceiling drapes. The black dining chairs are the ones I originally wanted from Pottery Barn but had to wait months to get them. I ended purchasing cross-back chairs instead.
Another view of the dining room that lets you see more of the wallpaper. Note how the curtain rods are about a foot above the window to create the illusion of more height and space.
The family room has a pretty, linen sectional sofa facing built-in cabinetry which probably houses the television.
You’ll find more wallpaper in the pretty laundry room, which features pale blue cabinetry. I like the use of a curtain rod underneath the floating shelf.
A built-in window seat on the staircase landing of today’s stunning modern farmhouse features the same shade of blue.
The master bedroom features a beautiful upholstered bed with a plaid, fringed blanket. Remember the ceiling beams in the living room? They’re featured here, as well.
The bathrooms in the home are so pretty. The master bath features a freestanding tub, walk-in shower, and private cubby for the toilet. The vanity is in a light shade of wood, similar to that seen on the kitchen floor.
A second bedroom features a double vintage sink and industrial style light fixture. The checkerboard floor also makes a statement in the space.
Today’s stunning modern farmhouse by Storie Collective shows how to seamlessly blend one room to the next, with the use of similar finishes and design features throughout.
