Turning a Spotlight on This New Luxury Beach Home

I’m excited to share today’s luxury beach home with you. Located on Anna Maria Island on the gulf side of Florida, this refreshing charmer is designed by Emily Moss. I recently discovered this designer and love all of her work. Everything she touches is joyful and beautiful. Take a look at today’s home and you’ll see what I mean. I’m not familiar with Anna Maria Island and had to look it up. Because you know – I might want to take a winter vacation some place warm. But back to the new luxury beach house which features double wood doors at the entry and soft blue shutters you’d expect to see somewhere coastal.

Step inside to the open floor plan that reflects the same color palette as the exterior of the home. Pale blue is reminiscent of the sea and sky, while the light wood floor and rattan elements evoke the color of the sandy beaches outside.

The kitchen is light and airy with white cabinets and a pale blue kitchen island. A pair of rattan pendant lights hang above the island with pretty woven bar stools.

There’s plenty of storage and work space, and I like that the kitchen is open to the family room. It’s perfect for gathering and entertaining.

The dining space might be my favorite area in today’s Florida luxury beach home. The chandelier reminds me of seashells and I love that the underside of the staircase has architectural detail as opposed to a flat surface. Pair that with the criss-cross of the landing wall painted in blue, and you’ve got a pleasing view when sitting on the far side of the table.

A view from the staircase reveals the scenery outside that you can enjoy while dining. I think it’s important to think about all the sight lines in your home, so you can ensure an appealing view from all angles – whether it’s through a window or into another room.

Upstairs, the bedrooms are just as stunning and cheerful as the first floor. Love the trio of windows above the bed trimmed in soft gray. And note the detail of that trim, too. A lot of new homes have plain thin trim around the windows and doors – if they have any trim at all. I’d much rather have a smaller home with architectural detail as opposed to a big house that lacks it.

A kids bedroom makes great use of space with bunk beds dressed in blue and white stripes.

If I were to add a new master bedroom to our house, it would have a lot of windows like this one. I’d want to feel like I’m perched in the tree tops while dozing off. The flowy, sheer drapes are the perfect adornment for a dreamy space.

And yet another charming bedroom with a unique, horizontal window over the headboard. French doors lead outside to enjoy morning coffee.

  1. I like the blue and white and agree on the dining light. Not a fan of the rattan pendants as they look heavy in the space plus they will collect dust and any cooking grease that is in the air. Overall a lovely home.
Happy New Year Jennifer! Pouring with rain and some serious storms lurking here.
