Costa Brava Cottage: Dream of a Getaway!

Today I’m super excited to share this charming, bright, and cheery Costa Brava cottage north of Barcelona that will certainly make you want to visit Spain someday, if you haven’t already.

Step through the little blue front door and you’re greeted by a unique light fixture suspended from an amazing ceiling that you don’t find here in the U.S. Blue shutters frame white cafe curtains that are sure to flutter in the sea breezes.

The next room you walk into is a great room of sorts – with another unique ceiling brick and wood beam ceiling. In one corner is a cozy seating area.

As you can see, the room is rather spacious and includes the dining room.

Another charming light fixture hangs over the dining table in the great room of the Costa Brava cottage. This home reminds me of Greek vacation homes we were looking at on Airbnb.

We had hoped to go to Greece this year but we decided to wait until next year – and now I’m glad we waited!

Here’s a view from the dining room looking at the front door. Note the rustic wall at right with a little shelved alcove.

Next up is the kitchen with its charming blue shuttered windows and white shaker kitchen cabinets. I can just imagine opening the windows on a warm day and listening to the sounds of nature, or someone softly strumming a Spanish guitar.

You get a better view of the kitchen’s beautiful tiled floor. The door leads to an outdoor patio with dining area.

A simple staircase leads to the second floor bedrooms.

Twin beds cozy up beneath a wood beamed ceiling and linen drum light.

Painted beams line the vaulted ceiling of the master bedroom. Simple decor keeps the cottage fresh and clean looking.

A truly unique sink takes up residence in one of the bathrooms. This is exactly what a lot of the Greece bathrooms looked like when we were searching for a rental. The Barcelona area is also on my bucket list of places to visit. Someday!

Here’s the outdoor dining area I mentioned earlier. Can’t you just imagine sipping wine and enjoying some fresh caught fish here?

  1. Nice little cottage to relax and visit. I would rather stay in this than some exclusive hotel.

  2. I love the wedgewood blue., also the little cane stools used for tables or ottomans ..All of the trim work is great. In other words, I would move in tomorrow 11

  3. Wow! Such a nice place! I would like to spend some weeks just relaxing in that wonderful cottage. The style is a combination of old and modern designs. Some beach activities will also help me connect to the glory of nature. Thanks for sharing this! What are other activities that we can do around the area or places to see? This is a very interesting blog!
